Made for Boston Pizza

National Pizza Day is February 9, and in 2027 it lands on a Tuesday. That's good news for a pizzeria. Tuesday is a quiet night for a lot of shops, and a food holiday gives people a reason to order that they didn't have on Monday. The catch is that every chain and every neighborhood shop posts that day, so a single "Happy Pizza Day!" post gets lost.

What works is a short run of posts: a teaser a week out, the deal a few days before, something to watch on the day itself, and a thank-you after. The deal doesn't have to be deep. A slice-and-drink lunch price or a two-pie bundle is enough, as long as the post says what it is, what it costs and when it ends.

It also sits five days before the Super Bowl on Sunday, February 14, so your Pizza Day posts can warm people up for game-day pre-orders. Below are 15 ideas and a timeline. The pizza examples were made in Studio for Boston Pizza in Norwell, MA, from their own photos and menu.

The list

15 ideas you can post

  1. 1

    Save the date

About a week out, post a lettered line like "Tuesday is Pizza Day" around a photo of your most-ordered pie. No deal yet, just the date. It primes people to watch for what's coming (uses credits).

  2. 2

    The deal, in motion

Around February 5, post the deal as a short video: the pie, the offer, the price and "Tuesday, Feb 9 only." Share it to your Story the same day and again Tuesday morning.

  3. 3

A price card for the pies in the deal

If the deal covers a few pies, post a price card that shows each one with its name and price from your menu. People like to pick before they call. Keep it to three or four pies.

  4. 4

    The hero slice

One slice, lifted from the pie, filling the frame. It's the image people picture when they think of pizza, so give it to them. Post it on the morning of February 9 with your deal in the caption.

  5. 5

Poll: which pie gets the day?

A few days before, post two of your pies side by side in your Story with Instagram's poll sticker. Caption starter: "Settle it. Which one are you ordering Tuesday?" Post the winner as a feed post on the day.

  6. 6

    Behind the oven

Film the dough stretch, the peel sliding a pie in, and the pie coming out bubbling. Three clips, a few seconds each. Keep the phone at a safe distance from the oven mouth.

  7. 7

    The basil drop

Fresh basil landing on a hot Margherita is about as good as pizza looks. If you didn't film it, a falling-garnish video can add that moment to your real pie photo (uses credits).

  8. 8

    Into the crust

A slow push toward the edge of the crust, the char and the bubbles, from a photo you already have. It stops thumbs in a feed full of flat pizza photos. AI video, uses credits.

  9. 9

Build a pie, topping by topping

Show your pie going together: dough, sauce, cheese, each topping. It works for your specialty pie, the one with the long ingredient list. An ingredient-build video can make it from your photos.

  10. 10

    Tuesday lunch slice special

Since it's a weekday, give the lunch crowd something: a slice-and-drink price, posted by 10:30am. Caption starter: "Pizza Day lunch: two slices and a drink for..."

  11. 11

    Order online for tonight

At 3 or 4pm on February 9, post where and how to order ahead. Pizza Day nights get busy, and a pre-order spreads the rush out. Pin it to your Story until close.

Make it with Order online video →
  12. 12

    Your Google Business post

Add the deal to your Google Business Profile a few days before so people searching for pizza nearby see it. Use the same photo and wording as your Instagram post.

  13. 13

    A sign for the window

Tape a Pizza Day sign in the window the week before for walk-by traffic. Keep it to the date, the deal and the price. It can be the same design as your feed post, downloaded for print.

Make it with Window sign design →
  14. 14

    The pie the crew eats

Ask your pizza makers what they order on their break and make a post about it, with their first names if they're happy to be named. Caption starter: "What we eat when nobody's watching."

Make it with Dish story video →
  15. 15

    The thank-you, and what's next

On February 10, thank people for coming in, then point to what's next: game-day trays for Sunday. A quick Reel from Tuesday night's rush works well. Caption starter: "You showed up. Sunday's next."

National Pizza Day 2027 timeline

  • Thu, Feb 4: poll in your Story.
  • Fri, Feb 5: the deal video, the price card and your Google Business post.
  • Mon, Feb 8: reminder in your Story; post the poll winner as a teaser.
  • Tue, Feb 9: hero slice in the morning, lunch special by 10:30am, order-online post mid-afternoon, a behind-the-oven Reel in the evening.

What makes a Pizza Day deal post clear

The price in that first bullet is only an example. Use your own, and make sure it matches what your register rings up.

  • The deal in five words or fewer: "Two large pies, $30."
  • The date and day: "Tuesday, Feb 9 only."
  • Dine in, pickup, delivery or all three.
  • Any limits: which pies, after 4pm, while dough lasts.
  • Where to order, in the caption and on the image.

Build the whole week in one sitting

With your menu in Studio, every post starts with your real pie, its real name and its real price. Make the teaser, the deal, the price card, the Google post and the window sign in one session in late January, then schedule them for the right days. Template designs and dish videos use no credits; the falling-garnish, close-up and lettered posts use credits from the 600 included each month.

FAQs

Frequently asked
questions

When is National Pizza Day 2027?
National Pizza Day is Tuesday, February 9, 2027. It falls on February 9 every year.
When should a pizzeria start posting for National Pizza Day?
About a week ahead, with a save-the-date around February 2 and the deal by February 5. That gives people time to plan an order.
Do I have to run a discount on National Pizza Day?
No. A special pie, a lunch slice combo or a free topping works just as well as a discount. The post just needs to give people a reason to order that day.
What should I post on National Pizza Day itself?
A hero slice photo in the morning, a lunch reminder before noon and an order-online post in the afternoon. Add a Reel from the oven in the evening if you have clips.
Can non-pizza restaurants post for National Pizza Day?
Yes, if pizza is on the menu, even as flatbread. If it isn't, it's usually better to skip it than to force a post.
How does National Pizza Day fit with the Super Bowl?
They're five days apart in 2027: Pizza Day on Tuesday, Feb 9 and the Super Bowl on Sunday, Feb 14. Use your Pizza Day thank-you post to point people to game-day pre-orders.
