Higgsfield vs Runway: Which Fits a Restaurant Making Ads and Reels?

Higgsfield and Runway are both credit-based AI video platforms, and as of October 2026 they overlap more than their names suggest. This page compares what each publishes about models, prices, free tiers and commercial use, then asks which one a restaurant should pick for ads and reels.

The short version: both are general creative tools, so you will bring the dish, the brand and the offer yourself. We read each company's own pages on October 10, 2026, and we flag anything we could not confirm. Prices change often, so check the live pages before you pay for anything.

What each product is

Higgsfield bills itself as a creative platform for making video, images and voice from prompts or reference media. Its site lists a cinematic scene builder (Cinema Studio), an ad builder (Ads Studio), a clip editor (Katana) and an agent called Supercomputer. Much of the pitch is breadth: one subscription that reaches many outside models.

Runway's public site splits into three platforms. The one a restaurant would touch is Runway Creative, a cloud suite for generating and editing video, images and audio, with iOS and Android apps. Runway Dev and Runway Robotics serve developers and robotics teams. Its own models are the headline: the homepage names Gen-4.5 for video, plus research models such as Aleph 2.0 and Act-Two.

Models and features

Higgsfield's homepage and pricing page name many models side by side, among them Sora 2, Veo 3.1, Seedance 2.0 and 2.5, Kling 3.0, Wan 3.0, Minimax Hailuo 2.3, Nano Banana Pro and its own Soul 2.0 and DoP models. The pricing page also lists a UGC builder and an ads feature as plan features.

Runway's pricing page lists Gen-4.5, Aleph 2.0, Seedance 2.0 Pro and Fast, and Kling 3.0 on the video side, with Gen-4 Image, Gen-4 Image Turbo and Nano Banana Pro for images, and audio models for speech and music. Its homepage also mentions an Agent, Workflows, Characters, and Runway Ads, described as an ad creation and publishing engine with human approval. So both companies now host some third-party models next to their own, and the gap is narrower than it used to be.

Neither site is written for restaurants, and neither mentions menus.

Pricing as published, October 2026

Higgsfield's pricing page shows four individual plans. Free is labeled limited use. Starter is $19 per month billed annually with 270 credits. Plus is $59 monthly or $47 per month billed annually with 1,200 credits. Ultra is $129 monthly or $99 per month billed annually with 3,000 credits, and the page shows slider options for 6,000 and 9,000 credits that we did not price. Team plans start at $65 per seat per month. Credits do not roll over.

Runway's pricing page shows Free at $0 with 125 credits as a one-time deposit that does not expire, Standard at $15 monthly or $12 per month billed annually with 625 credits, Pro at $35 or $28 with 2,250 credits, and Max at $95 or $76 with 9,500 credits. Standard lists no watermarks. The page did not state watermark terms for the other tiers, and we could not confirm them.

Credits are not comparable across the two. A five-second Kling 3.0 clip at 720p is about 7 credits on Higgsfield per its table, and we did not capture Runway's per-clip schedule. Make the same test clip on each instead of comparing credit counts.

Free tiers and commercial use

The free tiers differ in a way that matters to a business. Higgsfield's Free plan is labeled limited use, shows 0 monthly credits, and lists commercial use as not included. If you want to post generated content on your restaurant's accounts or in an ad, you need a paid plan there, and commercial use is shown as included on Starter, Plus and Ultra.

Runway's free plan is a one-time 125-credit deposit. On commercial rights, Runway's help center says the content you create is yours to use without non-commercial restrictions from Runway, and it names product advertising and social posts as examples. That article does not break rights down by plan, and a third-party summary claimed otherwise, so read Runway's Terms of Use if the free plan is your plan. Neither company clears rights problems in what you upload, so stick to your own food photos.

Where each one is strong

Each has a clear edge, and one shared limit.

  • Higgsfield: wide model menu, ad and UGC-style tools, annual discounts on Plus and Ultra.
  • Runway: its own Gen-4.5 video model, a published free deposit, no watermarks on Standard, clear help-center language on commercial use.
  • Both: credit-based, with no guarantee that food looks like your actual dish.

Which suits a restaurant making ads and reels

For most independent restaurants, the honest answer is that either tool can make an atmospheric clip, such as steam rising off a bowl or a pour in slow motion, but neither starts from your menu or your brand. You will paste in your own photo, write the prompt, check the result against the plate that leaves your pass, and then build the actual post, flyer or poster somewhere else.

If you want the most templates for quick social clips, Higgsfield's catalog is the larger one. If you want one polished hero shot and are happy to learn a more editor-style tool, Runway fits. Test on a free tier first, keep clips short, and never show a dish that looks different from what the kitchen serves.

Where Servestack Studio fits for restaurants

Servestack Studio is built for the part of restaurant marketing these general tools leave open. It starts from your restaurant's name, logo, brand color and menu, and it can import a menu from your website or read a printed menu from a photo. From there it makes menus, flyers, posters, dish photos, social posts, ads, hiring posters and reels, with video modes called Make a reel, Reel from clips and Quick fix. It is credit-based and has its own signup at studio.servestack.ai.

That makes it a different kind of tool rather than a rival model catalog. Use a general video generator for a one-off cinematic shot if you like; use Studio when you need the weekly menu, the hiring sign and the reel to look like the same restaurant.

FAQs

Frequently asked
questions

Is Higgsfield cheaper than Runway?
Not clearly. As of October 2026 the entry paid plans are $19 per month annual on Higgsfield and $12 per month annual on Runway, but credits are priced differently on each. Make the same short clip on both and compare.
Can I use either free plan for restaurant ads?
Higgsfield lists commercial use as not included on its Free plan. Runway's help center says generated content is yours to use commercially, without a plan-by-plan breakdown, so read its Terms of Use before relying on it.
Does Higgsfield include Runway's models?
We did not see Runway's Gen models named on Higgsfield's pricing page. It does list Kling 3.0, Sora 2, Veo 3.1 and Seedance, among others.
Which is better for a short restaurant reel?
Both can produce a few seconds of atmospheric footage. Neither is built around a restaurant's menu, so expect to prompt each clip and check it against the real dish.
Do I need to disclose AI-generated food videos?
Disclosure rules vary by platform, and the FTC requires honesty in advertising. Do not show a dish you do not serve, and never present AI-generated people as real customers or reviewers.
What if I need menus and hiring posters, not just video?
Neither pricing page positions these tools for printed menus or hiring posters. A restaurant-focused studio such as Servestack Studio covers menus, flyers, posters and reels from one brand profile.
