What a bar manager does
Bar managers lead the bar team and own the bar's results. They build and update the drink menu, manage inventory and ordering for liquor, beer, wine, and supplies, and control pour cost and waste. They hire, schedule, and train bartenders and barbacks, enforce responsible alcohol service, and keep the bar clean and compliant. A strong bar manager mixes creativity with numbers, keeping the program fresh while protecting margins. The role suits experienced bartenders who like leading people and running the business side of beverage.
