What a restaurant manager does
Restaurant managers are responsible for how a restaurant runs day to day. They schedule and supervise staff, oversee front-of-house and kitchen operations, handle guest concerns, and make sure the restaurant meets health and safety standards. They also watch labor and food costs, process cash and sales reports, and help with hiring and training. The best managers are present on the floor, lead by example, and balance guest experience with profitability. It is a demanding role with long hours and big variety.
