Also called: brunch cook
What a breakfast cook does
A breakfast cook owns the morning. You come in early, set up the line, and cook eggs, bacon, potatoes, griddle items, and brunch plates to order for guests who want hot food quickly. Egg work and timing are the core skills, since a benedict, omelet, and side of pancakes must all arrive together. Weekend brunch is the peak, so the role demands stamina and teamwork. It is a good fit for early risers who like a lively, social kitchen.
Pay snapshot: the BLS reports a national median of $17.98/hr for restaurant cooks, and $22.03/hr in the Boston metro. See the full salary breakdown.
