What each ChowNow plan includes
ChowNow's pricing page lists a core set that is included in every plan: a direct online ordering tool, an SEO-optimized website, a branded mobile app, a commission-free marketplace, a discovery network (Google, Apple, Yelp and six more), catering, automated email marketing, a loyalty and rewards program, 500 complimentary print flyers, fraud and chargeback protection, 30+ POS integrations, delivery management, reporting and 24/7 phone and chat support.
The upgrade path is mostly about marketing capacity. Grow and Elevate add automated SMS, QR code ordering, on-demand email and SMS campaigns, CSV upload of in-store diners, third-party order aggregation and centralized menu management across direct and third-party channels.
- Launch: 500 email contacts, no SMS.
- Grow: 2,000 email contacts and 2,000 SMS credits.
- Elevate: 5,000 email contacts and 5,000 SMS credits.
The fees beyond the monthly price
Under "Additional Fees," ChowNow lists a $119 to $499 setup fee, card processing at 2.95% plus $0.29 per transaction, a $99 annual Apple developer fee for branded mobile apps, a $250 to $420 printer, and $7.98 per order for Flex Delivery. ChowNow does not tie these to specific plans on the page, so ask which apply to you.
The processing fee is the one that grows with your sales. On a $30 order it comes to about $1.18, and ChowNow's page does not say whether you or your guest bears it.
Commission, the marketplace and your guest data
ChowNow's FAQ says customers can place unlimited commission-free orders from your website, branded app, ChowNow's marketplace app and discovery channels, with Profit Protector enabled. The page does not state a marketplace commission rate. Restaurants get full access to diner ordering data and contact information, and ChowNow says it does not sell that data to third parties.
Contracts and cancellation
ChowNow's pricing page does not state a contract length, a cancellation policy or a refund policy. The annual and monthly toggle suggests annual billing is cheaper, but the page does not spell out the term. Ask for the written order form and read the term, renewal and cancellation language before you sign.
Who ChowNow fits
ChowNow is a good fit if you want a long-established commission-free ordering tool with its own diner marketplace, a branded app on every plan, and help from a team that builds your site. It also integrates with Toast, Square, Clover, Revel and others, and ChowNow offers 24/7 support. Restaurants that mainly want to move guests off third-party apps, and that plan to use the app and marketplace, will see the most value.
How Servestack differs
Both products give you commission-free direct ordering, so the difference is in how the bill is built and what you own. Servestack charges a flat monthly price with zero per-order commission, and it works with Toast, Square, Clover and other POS systems. It puts ordering on your own domain with SMS and email marketing and loyalty alongside it. Card processing applies on any platform. If ChowNow's marketplace and branded app are what you want, ChowNow is a solid option. If you want your own website and guest list at one flat price, compare the two side by side.
Example: 400 online orders at $30 each
- A hypothetical single-location restaurant, not a quote.
- $12,000 in card orders in a month: 400 orders averaging $30.
- Launch plan billed monthly at $249.
- Processing at ChowNow's listed 2.95% + $0.29 per transaction.
- No Flex Delivery orders; setup fee, app fee and printer excluded.
| Launch plan, billed monthly | $249 |
| Card processing, 2.95% of $12,000 | $354 |
| Card processing, $0.29 on 400 orders | $116 |
| Estimated total | $719 per month |
On annual billing the plan line would be $229 and the total $699. One-time costs are extra: a $119 to $499 setup fee, a $250 to $420 printer, and a $99 yearly Apple fee if you use the branded app. Flex Delivery at $7.98 per order would add $319.20 for 40 delivered orders. Your actual quote will differ.
